The Power of Submission

With repentance, comes submission. To submit is to be subjected under the authority of another being. When we submit to God, it yields these benefits:

#1: It gives peace that surpasses all understanding.

There are many names for our omnipotent God. One of them is Jehovah Shalom which translates to “The Lord is Peace.” Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” In every circumstance, we have the liberty to be honest about what we go through and petition specific requests with a heart of thanksgiving. No matter what we face, we have the power to overcome any stressor sent by the enemy. Those who trust in Him can find comfort in the midst of calamity. The Lord is near. May you be overwhelmed by the presence and power of the Almighty who never abandons His children.

Be so rooted in your faith that no satanic attack can disturb your peace. #Unbothered

Confess: I come against the agenda of the enemy to take away my peace. My heart is not troubled as I receive the grace to remain steadfast and unmovable in the midst of storms. Victory is mine!

#2: It gives divine revelation/direction.

Have you ever gone through something and came across a post that applied to your situation? It's almost as if the content creator knew you personally and wrote it just for you. Although the urge to throw shade is very tempting, it is unwise to do so. Sharing subliminal posts won't heal your broken heart, restore you, fix your struggling relationship/marriage, or deliver you from whatever you're facing. Quite frankly, it only draws attention which causes nosy people to be in your business, a place where they don't belong. People thrive off of the drama and misfortunes of others. Change your posture and see what the Word says concerning your situation. There's a scripture for every matter, and it won't lead you astray.

The Holy Spirit is our guide. The more time you spend with Him, the more He will reveal.

Confess: Thank You, Lord, for Your revelation power. Open my spiritual eyes and show me Your ways so I may receive direction concerning my life.

#3: It builds trust.

Submitting to God includes casting matters over to Him. This entails taking things out of our hands and putting them into His without further involving ourselves. Though you may endure a season of unrest, relief is available. Releasing problems to God creates space for peace to flow in our hearts and minds to receive necessary answers. As we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, it strengthens our relationship with Him affirming our belief in His credibility, reliability, and countless capabilities. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” -Proverbs 3:5-6

Find peace and everything else will fall into place.

Confess: God, I give my problems over to You and trust in Your power to make things well. All things work together for my good.

Submitting to God is a choice. This wasn’t easy for me considering how strong-willed I am. My pride allegorized the significance of submission to profanity, but it was one of the best decisions I made after repenting once I realized I was not operating under the will of God which birthed my theme for 2021. My theme was that 2021 would be the year of alignment in the timing and will of God which would bring peace and strategies. Job 22:21 says, “Submit to God, and you will have peace; then things will go well for you.” Adhering to this obedience gave clarity where there was uncertainty, instilled purity within my heart, caused my career to flourish, and established the foundation for my future goals.

All aspects of our lives should be submitted to God and His authority. When we do this, then we can experience peace that surpasses understanding, receive divine revelation, and build trust in Him.

Written with grace,

Kiala

Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior? If not, say this prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus,

Come into my life. I accept You as my Lord and personal Savior. I believe in my heart that You died and rose from the dead to save me. Thank You, Lord, for saving me in Jesus' name. Amen.

If you prayed this prayer, then congratulations! All of your sins are now forgiven and you have been born again. Heaven is rejoicing!
