This blog is very special because IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!! My theme for 2022 is "God will finish what He started." I believe I'm on the brink of something MAJOR. There are some things I've been working on, but have not come to fruition yet. Although I don't know what this year will hold, here are my heart's desires for this chapter of my life:

Goal 1:

My primary goal for 2022 is to become a homeowner. I’ve lived in apartments and family members’ houses but never my own. Moving into my own house is something God has been preparing my heart for since January 3, 2018 as shown below.

I had no idea what was about to hit my life just a few months later. Throughout the continuous challenges I've faced since this encounter, I've clung to this word. It truly keeps me hopeful while looking forward to the manifestation of what was prophesied. In my faith walk, I’ve reached a level of confidence in knowing no word that God has spoken can or will ever fail. Time has passed, but the promise hasn't altered. He's still going to do what He said. This is the year that God will finish what He started.

"Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her."- Luke 1:45

Goal 2:

Another goal of mine is to strengthen my administrative skillset. Let's be clear. Administration is MY THING. Making sure information is accurate, updated, and disseminated in a timely manner is my forte.

I originally desired to pursue my bachelor’s degree in business administration. A change in the curriculum completely eliminated my major which left me shook. I felt so directionless. After completing a questionnaire at orientation, it led me to major in management since it was the closest to business administration.

It is conventionalized that a degree is required to establish a career. While it is beneficial, experience outweighs by implementing practical exercises to provide exposure to a candidate's specialized field. The textbooks lay the foundation and the work industry gives tangible application.

Although my academic career was untraditional, I still ended up where I was supposed to be. I've had opportunities to work in administration as an intern, through a temporary agency, and at my first "real" full time job which I wholeheartedly honor God for.

Detours alter the path but not the destination.

Not only have I performed administrative duties in my career, I have done so in ministry as well. I've been in church all my life and have served in different capacities over the years. My greatest takeaways are valuing confidentiality while utilizing discretion, staying open and willing to be stretched, and operating with excellence.

As I continue to grow, I want to specifically improve in my career and ministry this year. One major thing I'm aspiring towards is a promotion. I passed the exam in November 2021 to qualify for a promotion and my name has been placed on an eligibility list which is good for two years. Upon receiving the promotion, it will increase my level of responsibility, rank, and pay.

In ministry, I desire to glean from trailblazing individuals who have applied concepts to provoke church growth. My preferred teaching methods I'm seeking are leadership summits/events and books/guides. Through these tools, the objective is to be equipped with different strategies to propel advancement to contribute to growing and positively impacting the kingdom.

It’s a very important thing to remain teachable. Never stop improving.

Goal 3:

2020 was a year of restoration for me. As God vigorously worked on the inside, I started to invest in my outer appearance. This included my skin. I'm confident in my looks, but acne is disconcerting and I want it GONE. So far I've tried several facial treatments and skincare products. One of the top lessons I've learned is it's not a quick process. It takes time for the skin to adjust to new products and procedures while also determining what does and does not work. It's definitely a test of my patience and bank account. If I remain steadfast with my commitment, I can achieve my goal with these actionable steps:

  • Continue to try new products to discover what works for me

  • Identify acne triggers

  • Continue to adjust my diet

  • Be consistent with my facials

"But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” -2 Chronicles 15:7

Goal 4:

My blog has been off to a great start and it wouldn’t be possible without your support so THANK YOU. It's only the beginning with the potential to become much more. One way I would like to expand my blog is to increase my views. I know I should do better about posting my blogs more often on my social media. I also want to learn search engine optimization. If you have any tips, feel free to send them my way!

I’ve also formulated ideas to monetize. I have a vision of an accessory I would like to create. Its purpose would serve as a reminder of God's endless grace.

Additionally, I’m looking to read more books and share my recommendations (and other relative products) as an Amazon affiliate. If a reader makes a purchase, then I'll receive a percentage of that sale at no cost to them. It is my hope that what I share allows my readers to discover new things that adds value to their spiritual walk and overall quality of life as it will mine. We’re in this together.

My confidence comes from knowing my heart's desires shall be fulfilled according to the Lord's will. I'm looking forward to all that will be accomplished...planned and unplanned. After all, God is an exceedingly and abundantly kind of god. It's going to be an exceptional year, and I'm ready for it!!

Written with grace,

Kiala

Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior? If not, say this prayer:

Dear, Lord Jesus:

Come into my life. I accept You as my Lord and personal Savior. I believe in my heart that You died and rose from the dead to save me. Thank You, Lord, for saving me in Jesus' name. Amen.

If you prayed this prayer, then congratulations! All of your sins are now forgiven and you have been born again. Heaven is rejoicing!
