New Year, Same Goals | It's Time to Execute

Since my last post, I am now a year older. I took several much needed days off to celebrate my birthday in which I spent a few days in Las Vegas. This was my first time there. I tried different restaurants and explored the city. My favorite activity was riding an ATV in the Mojave desert. Although I would have rather been in Jamaica enjoying the sunshine with warmer temperatures, it was a great trip aside from the 40-50 degree weather.

The Lord said my theme for 2023 is that this is the year to tap into gifts that will bring greater exposure. It’s a new year but my goals are still the same. Now it’s time to execute.

Goal #1

Last year, one of my goals was to strengthen my administrative skills and I did just that! I received a promotion, took on an additional role in ministry, and attended several meetings and trainings. Now I’m going to apply what I've learned and implement those things along with my current skills in a new venture. Stay tuned for the official launch in March 2023!

Proverbs 18:16 which says, "A man’s gift makes room for him, And brings him before great men.", is my base scripture. I believe that there are people who need what I have to offer. They’re just waiting for me to use my God-given gifts. The opportunities will come as the doors open up for me to make an impact in the lives of business owners who need my assistance.

Goal #2

As I continue to grow, my blog should too. This year, I want to devise a content strategy that will increase its exposure. My blog posts are influential but aren’t reaching the target audience like it should. My course of action is to hire a graphic designer to design content templates, send emails intermittently, and post more often on social media.

Goal #3

As a black girl, my hair is a big part of my identity. I pride myself on making sure my hair is done regularly. I've worn various styles to switch up my look. Over time, I realized I wasn't taking care of my real hair properly. It has grown significantly, but the overall health declined. Practicing these good habits will help me get my hair where I want it to be.

  • Be consistent with deep conditioning and protein treatments.

  • Wear more natural hairstyles without weave.

  • Focus on less tension, breakage, length retention, and save money by not buying weave.

My current staple products are:

Prior to going to the hair salon routinely, I received negative comments regarding my hair for years. People would call me nappy head, ask me what’s going on with my hair, and say that I need to do my hair but didn’t offer any tips to do so or pay for a hair appointment. These things are deconstructive to one’s self esteem and confidence, and MUST BE STOPPED.

To the (young) black girl reading this:

  • Your natural hair is not nappy.

  • Your natural hair is not a hot mess.

  • Your natural hair is not a disgrace.

It is beautiful the way that is. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Goal #4

Spiritual growth is a continuous journey. Advancing in the things of God isn’t something that happens by chance. It requires intentional time to seek, pray, and study the word of God. That’s why I’m rededicating myself to strengthening my relationship with God. I have a few books that I haven’t finished reading and also want to find a good devotional that doesn’t feel so novice. Furthermore, I possess spiritual gifts that I tend to shy away from but we already know how that’s going to end. Jonah is a prime example. Enough said.

Bonus

It has become quite evident that I need a new car. Between the cosmetic wear and maintenance needed, the signs are very clear. I’ve had my car since 2014. While I’m grateful for how well it’s served me, it’s time for an upgrade. My dream car is a new all black Audi A4. I don’t know how exactly I’m going to attain it, but I know my God will provide like He always does.

I've been intentional about easing into the new year based on direction rather than speed. I’m coming after everything this year owes me. The details will be revealed as a download of supernatural strategies from the Holy Spirit to command movement. My goals are converting from aspirations to achievements. What's next for me will be beyond what I could imagine or hope for.

Written with grace,

Kiala

Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior? If not, say this prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus,

Come into my life. I accept You as my Lord and personal Savior. I believe in my heart that You died and rose from the dead to save me. Thank You, Lord, for saving me in Jesus' name. Amen.

If you prayed this prayer, then congratulations! All of your sins are now forgiven and you have been born again. Heaven is rejoicing!
