A Fresh Wind is Coming

Many people typically equate a new year to a fresh start. They have their yearly planner filled with new year’s resolutions eager to be accomplished. Along the way, the hardships of life can disrupt those plans. Despite feeling thrown off course, know that renewal is available. “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” -Isaiah 40:31
One thing I’ve been intentional about is having more experiences. I didn’t want to miss out on enjoying my life and status because of being too busy pursuing my goals. My latest trip to Atlanta, Georgia for the You Will Win Conference 2023 was so fulfilling! You Will Win is a conference hosted by the multi-talented Jekalyn Carr with a mission to equip believers to win in all areas of their lives God’s way. About two weeks prior to the conference, the Lord said this would be a week for breakthrough and indeed it was. The panelists were inspirational, the messages during the night services were prophetic, and the concert turned into an epic praise party!
Friday, June 23rd, the conference kicked off with a welcome session that consisted of powerful worship. This clip of Kelontae Gavin was one of my favorite moments!
Afterwards, the panel sessions began. My favorite ones were winning in health and the marketplace.
We reconvened for the night service with more glorious worship followed by a word from Pastor Reginald Sharpe Jr. Check out the clip below for a snippet of his sermon, “This is Some Heavy Shift.”
Day two of the conference began with a brief morning service. As a VIP guest, I had exclusive access to the Honorary Winner’s Circle Gala and meet & greet with Jekalyn. There she was presented awards for being a young pioneer making major moves in the kingdom and marketplace in addition to writing and publishing her hit song, “My Portion.” Food was enjoyed while songs were sung and a thrilling word was preached. This special event concluded with a picture with Jekalyn.

The night service was another high time in God! It included more praise and worship, dance, and a sermon preached by Jekalyn. See below for a prophetic word.
Lastly, we closed out the conference with a concert. It was LIT!!! The featured singers were Bri Babineaux, Charles Jenkins, Deborah Lukalu, and Pastor Mike Jr. A time was had!!
Usually when I attend a church related event, I am serving but this time I was able to take in the fullness of the agenda and be poured into. This conference helped reaffirm me as I have been seeking God for restoration after experiencing depression twice and reconciling back to Him fully. Witnessing Jekalyn operating in what God has called her to do was very admirable. She was so bold and unapologetic about it. I was mostly inspired by how she's secure in her identity while carrying out her purpose across various areas and platforms.
In getting back to my true self, I’ve noticed that things are picking up for me. I’m being pulled in several different aspects where there is a demand for what I have to offer. The way things are going reminds me of my senior year of high school. I had such a packed schedule including dual enrollment, sports, and senior activities. It was a lot to be involved in, but I still successfully managed everything. The constant busyness of being in a fast paced climate is challenging me to manage my time wisely while handling things with grace and flexibility.
Sometimes you have to make adjustments to create space for the right things to come into your life.
With the first half of the year passed by, I've acquired a second wind of motivation to revisit the things I set out to do. After the conference, I returned home with an extra boost to get to work. An effective strategy that helped me was to do a brain dump. I wrote down all of the things I needed to do in various categories. This freed some space in my mind and gave me a clearer visual of my tasks at hand.
A fixed focus yields great fruitfulness.
God's mercies are new everyday. No matter where you are in your journey, it's not too late to begin again. Restart as many times as you need to. A steady focus is needed for proper stewardship in this season. May the latter half of this year be greater than the former. Get back on track and finish the rest of this year strong!

Written with grace,
Kiala
Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior? If not, say this prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus,
Come into my life. I accept You as my Lord and personal Savior. I believe in my heart that You died and rose from the dead to save me. Thank You, Lord, for saving me in Jesus' name. Amen.
If you prayed this prayer, then congratulations! All of your sins are now forgiven and you have been born again. Heaven is rejoicing!
