Going through a breakup opens a slew of unknowns with unanswered questions wondering what to do next. In part one of this series, I shared four ways to navigate the aftermath of a devastating heartbreak. The end of a relationship may feel like a loss, but it has a profound way of reconciling you back to God. Let’s pray.
Father, I thank you for giving me the courage to end that relationship. It drained me mentally, physically, and emotionally. Lord, let not my heart be hardened by what has happened. Vengeance is Yours; therefore, I will not seek revenge or harbor any ill feelings against my ex. You have the power to remove all hurt, animosity, disappointment, malice, and regret, so I put my trust and hope in You. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning, so there shall be no more anguish nor mourning of what could have been. Give me the spiritual insight to see things like You do. I pray that You help me to not focus on what has passed, instead that my eyes look directly forward, keeping my gaze straight before me.
Thank You for being my confidant. I ask that You be my strength so that I can overcome this breakup and heartache that I have experienced. Guide my path in this season of transition. Ready my spirit and heart to move on from this past relationship and eventually receive new love from someone who is suitable for me. Lord, show me that there are so many great things in my future, and remind me that You have amazing plans for me and that one day I will meet the person that aligns with those plans. You know my name and have my best intentions in mind. Though I don't know what all of those intentions are, being with my ex wasn't a part of them. My best days are ahead of me, and I thank You in advance for what’s next to come. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
Healing from a breakup is not something that happens overnight. It takes time and intentional effort to move on. The beauty of prayer is that God never gets tired of receiving our requests. In fact, He invites us to present them to Him in Philippians 4:6. Keep casting those cares upon the Lord through prayer and supplication until you experience total freedom. His mercies are new every morning.
Here is a downloadable version of this prayer to save for use during your personal time with God.

Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior? If not, say this prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus,
Come into my life. I accept You as my Lord and personal Savior. I believe in my heart that You died and rose from the dead to save me. Thank You, Lord, for saving me in Jesus' name. Amen.
If you prayed this prayer, then congratulations! All of your sins are now forgiven and you have been born again. Heaven is rejoicing!
